Choose the system around your pharmacy's responsibilities.
A pharmacy branch, a central store and a pharmaceutical wholesaler may handle the same medicine but have different responsibilities. Start with the stock journey and the people who make decisions, rather than comparing long feature lists.
- 01Define the scope
- 02Map a real movement
- 03Test an exception
- 04Agree the handover

Central stock and branch replenishment
For a pharmacy chain, follow a purchase through the central store, regional allocation, branch receipt and return. Ask how packs and units are represented and which users can see or change each store's stock. Use your own process examples, with patient information removed.
- Central versus branch responsibilities
- Pack-to-unit conversion and shelf locations
- Delivery calendars, backorders and returns
Wholesale is a different product scope
A distributor needs quality holds and independent release authority alongside batch history, FEFO picking and customer-specific packing. Pharmacy-chain inventory is not automatically a wholesale quality system. Confirm the product and configuration that match the work.
- Batch, supplier and customer holds
- Picking, repacking and release decisions
- Delivery evidence and exception history
Know what is outside the boundary
Pharmix chain management is not presented as a replacement for a patient medication record (PMR), electronic prescribing or clinical decision support. Agree those interfaces separately. Finance export versions, field mapping and ownership also need explicit agreement before implementation.
- Confirm existing PMR responsibilities
- Reconcile finance handovers using sample transactions
- Agree data migration, training and acceptance tests
Bring one real workflow. Leave the patient details out.
